What is an Axe Throwing Experience?
This unique adventure takes place at our dedicated axe throwing range, where you’ll be guided by expert instructors to perfect your technique. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned thrower, you’ll enjoy learning how to aim, throw, and hit the target with precision. By the end of the session, you’ll feel the satisfaction of landing your axe with a solid “thunk”!
Conveniently located close to Cardiff and Swansea, our activity centre showcases the best of what South Wales has to offer for outdoor enthusiasts. Our axe throwing sessions provide a memorable day out for friends, families, Stag & Hen Groups or even corporate team-building events.

What does a Typical Axe Throwing session involve?
We meet at our activity centre where you’ll be greeted by one of our expert instructors, ready to share their passion and knowledge of the sport. After a comprehensive safety briefing, you’ll learn the basics of axe throwing, from grip and stance to aiming and technique.
With your instructor guiding you through each step, you’ll start with practice throws and gradually build up your skills, aiming for that satisfying bullseye. Our sessions take place in a fun and relaxed setting, allowing you to challenge yourself while enjoying the thrill of throwing axes.
The whole session lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours, giving you plenty of time to hone your technique and compete in friendly challenges. The experience starts at 10:00am, and you’ll finish up around noon, ready to share stories of your newfound skills or continue onto another thrilling activity.
What do I need to bring for my Axe Throwing Experience?
When joining us for our Axe Throwing Experience sessions, we ask you to bring along a few simple personal items to ensure your experience is safe and enjoyable.
Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes with good grip. Proper footwear is essential for safety while you’re on the axe-throwing range.
We also recommend dressing in layers, as our activity centre is outdoors and weather conditions can vary. A waterproof jacket might be handy on those unpredictable days.
Axe throwing is a fun and different way to spend time with friends or family. It’s all about seeing who can hit the target and maybe even land a bullseye. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried it before — it’s easy to pick up and a good laugh from start to finish. With expert instructors on hand, it’s a great activity for groups looking to try something a bit out of the ordinary.

Our Axe throwing activity session takes place at our outdoor activity centre in Porthcawl, only a short drive from Cardiff City centre.
